Kalkadoon Community Pty Ltd was established in Mount Isa in 2006. The community organisation is dedicated to progressing the aspirations of the Kalkadoon people, who are recognised as the traditional owners of the Mount Isa region. Our community group seeks out programs that can help progress the social, educational, employment and economic circumstance of the Kalkadoon people. We develop and plan projects that offer community development, training and employment growth. Kalkadoon Community Mount Isa works with local businesses, government and community groups to develop business opportunities for the Kalkadoon people. We also work closely with companies based in the Mount Isa region to learn more about their projects and to allow for open and clear communication between both groups.
